Preparing students for an overseas trip is about more than just booking flights and filling a suitcase. It’s about creating a learning experience that starts long before takeoff. While educators remain the leaders of that learning journey, we provide the support, tools, and connections that help set each trip up for success.
We encourage schools and educators to start the preparation process early. Here are some ways we set trips up for success:
Educating Students About Their Destination
We share curated cultural, historical, and logistical information to help students feel informed and excited. This isn’t meant to replace classroom learning. Teachers guide the academic side; we simply add resources that make students feel confident about where they’re headed.

Incorporating Sites into Classroom Lessons
When educators bring destinations into their lessons ahead of time, the experience becomes richer. For example, if a group is visiting the Parthenon in Athens, or exploring the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., learning about them beforehand deepens understanding and makes the visit more impactful. We provide suggested materials and guidance, but teachers always shape how this preparation fits into their curriculum.

Pre-Trip Activities and Planning Exercises
We collaborate with teachers to develop optional activities and exercises that can be incorporated into the trip. These might include creating a “travel journal” of questions students want answered, mapping key sites, or researching local customs. While not required, these exercises help students engage more deeply with what they’ll see and provide teachers with tools to guide learning during the trip.

By building knowledge and excitement before the journey begins, students can step off the plane already feeling connected to the culture they’re about to explore. This preparation also helps students adapt more quickly, making their time abroad richer and more memorable.
